FAQ

How many lessons will I need?

This is very much down to the individual, how quickly they progress and how much they can practise in their own car.  We would recommend having at least 30 to 40 hours to be able to cover all the aspects of successful driving although some pupils will pass with less, some a lot more.

Can I take the test in my own car?

Yes, you can as long as you can meet the requirements set out by the DVSA.

Can I practice in my own car?

Absolutely! We recommend getting as much driving practice as you can.  Make sure you have the appropriate insurance and someone suitable to accompany you.  It may be best to wait until you have a few lessons to understand the basic controls so your passenger doesn’t have too scary a time!

When can I book my test?

We will let you know when you are ready to book your test, we may recommend moving your test back a bit if you are not quite ready, or move your test date forward if you are ready sooner than expected.  We want you to pass your test so we won’t take you to a test if you are not ready.

When can I book my theory?

You can book and take your theory as soon as you are 17, this can be before your first lesson if you want to.  We do offer help with the theory test if you need it.  There are also some apps that are useful.  Practising the hazard perception beforehand is a must.  You will need to pass your theory test before you can book your practical test.  It is valid for two years once you have passed it in order for you to take your practical test.
